Edmond, Oklahoma, U.S.A. – October 10, 2010 – iBall Instruments, LLC is in full production of the NEW Sample Line Water Extractor This device sets a new standard in the protection of all gas detector and chromatograph systems employed in the oil and gas exploration industry.
This new Sample Line Water Extractor System can be used with any FID, Hot-Wire, Infrared or Pellistor based gas detection systems to prevent all incoming liquid contamination and subsequent damage. The system eliminates the use of a traditional “bubble jar” or “drop out jar” typically used in a logging trailer.
This unit eliminates all external filters, and DriRite® canisters between the incoming sample line and the equipment.
The water extractor design is based on a purpose-built specialized membrane filter with an exceptionally long life of at least one (1) year. These units carry a one year limited warranty. The design of the system, including the air-tight and robust enclosures, will assure that the iBall Instruments Sample Line Water Extractor will last for years.
The Sample Line Water Extractor is immune to damage from all hydrocarbon fluids and gasses including alcohol, ethylene glycol, and diesel fuel. All extracted liquids are automatically pumped out through an integral exhaust port using a quiet medical-grade pump designed for industrial applications and continuous operation. This system provides immutable defense from liquid based contaminates indigenous to the gas detection process used throughout the mud logging industry.
For safety, the system requires an exhaust line be connected to the device and routed outside the trailer or building where it is operating. Once installed and powered up, no human intervention is required to provide liquid-free sample gas.

Edmond, Oklahoma, U.S.A.- April 10, 2010 – An advanced, fully-enclosed gas detection and chromatograph system that can perform safely in a Class 1 Group D environment has been announced by iBall Instruments, LLC of Edmond, Oklahoma.
A pre-production unit will be unveiled for the first time at the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Annual Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana in April of this year. The unit is currently undergoing long term and ATEX Certification Testing and is expected to be available in the second quarter of this year.
The system integrates wireless Ethernet and worldwide GPRS connectivity and can be monitored from anywhere in the world through the BloodhoundTM server system.
Powered by any AC Voltage from 90 to 260 Volts and between 40 or 70 Hz, this advanced unit employs solid-state environmental conditioning, BloodhoundTM Infrared Sensing technology and digital signal processing. It is housed in a rugged case that can be clamped to a drilling rig and left unattended. Further, the unit can power an external 12 VDC explosion-proof gas extractor.
One of the most exciting innovations is the new sample line water extractor system that is integrated into the design and eliminates all moisture from entering the detector system.
